Cast iron fire surround

For sale is this large, fully restored antique cast iron fire surround from an Edwardian period property in the South Wales. It carries authentic foundry marks and was cast in the early 1900s. It is a splendid piece of architectural history.
An original piece that is well preserved, it is a striking yet simple surround. It is generously proportioned and retains its original, substantial mantle shelf.
With a rear projection of only 5mm, the surround is perfect to go over an existing chimney breast opening.
It has been professionally stripped, cleaned, protective coated and polished to bring out its original character.
Made of solid cast iron, the whole thing is in great condition for its age with a lovely patina.
As with most period fireplaces of this type, the simplicity of design and quality of the ironwork is what makes it so attractive. This particular example features gorgeous ironwork around the body, with a small art nouveau design at the top of the legs. It is a delightful item that will bring charm and character to your property.
There are discreet mounting holes on the outer body for simple and safe installation.
