Edwardian tiled insert
For sale is this antique cast iron tiled fireplace insert, which has been restored fully and is beautifully presented. Cast between 1900-1910 with original foundry marks, it is a lovely piece of architectural heritage. The ironwork has been protective coated and polished to bring out its original character.
This is a classic late Victorian / early Edwardian chimney piece. The beautiful detail and quality can be seen in the pictures of the insert.
The antique tiles are all in very good condition for their age, with only a few chips here and there.
(The bottom right hand side tile has been repaired at sometime, the repaire is sound and almost invisible) They complement the floral ironwork perfectly.
During restoration we replaced bolts where needed.
We've retained the original sliding canopy, fire back, front bars and ash pan cover.
