Ornate cast iron fire surround

A gorgeous  fully restored antique style cast iron fireplace surround, resplendent with late Victorian  character.
This is a lovely condition, original antique style fire surround.
It is made of solid, heavyweight cast iron in excellent condition. The decorative ironwork includes exquisite floral reliefs over the opening.
See all pics for the final finish. The surround fits neatly over an existing fireplace opening or against a flat wall.
During restoration we stripped coated and polished the entire piece to give a lovely, lustrous gunmetal finish.
There are 2 discreet mounting holes on the outer body for simple and safe installation.

A restored fireplace will bear well concealed signs of the restoration work and will have natural imperfections due to the nature of antique cast iron. This simply adds to the character of the piece in our view. The final look is outstanding.
Restored and Ready to Install
The cast iron Insert as pictured has been professionally restored.
Sandblasted, primed and coated with Thermolac, a specialist heat proof paint. 
A coat of traditional wax based graphite polish has then been applied to help seal and further protect the cast iron. 
The polish provides a silver black finish, it also emphasises and highlight the detailing in the casting
